How it works

From order to a device on the network

Order online, put the SIM in the device, and manage the fleet from the portal.

The three stages

  1. 01

    Order

Order up to 49 SIMs online, across any mix of plans. We review every order and contact you to confirm before anything ships, then invoice. Orders of 50 or more are quoted. Every order can be tracked in the portal.

    • Orders move through Pending, Confirmed, Shipped and Delivered. You can cancel any time before an order ships.
    • SIMs ship to the address on the order, which can be the site itself.
    • Each SIM is a standard tri-cut that punches out to 2FF, 3FF or 4FF.
  2. 02

    Activate

SIMs arrive ready to use. Set the APN in the router, then label the SIM and assign it to a site in the portal. Billing starts when a SIM first carries traffic.

    • Add a SIM by typing the ICCID or scanning the barcode with your phone camera.
    • The plan sets the APN. Enter it in the router and the device connects.
    • Label each SIM and assign it to a site.
  3. 03

    Manage

Every SIM shows its monthly cost, and pooled data is shared across each plan. Billing breaks down by plan and by site, and the totals in the portal match the invoice.

    • Change status, pool or tags across a whole filtered selection at once.
    • Export the inventory to CSV for your own reporting.
    • Role-based access, including view-only users.

SIM status

What each SIM status means

Every SIM in the portal shows one of four statuses.

Provisioned
Ordered and being prepared. Not yet active on the network.
Active
Connected to the network and ready to use.
Suspended
Temporarily deactivated. Contact support to reactivate.
Retired
Permanently deactivated. Cannot be reused.

APN setup

Setting the APN on common routers

The plan sets the APN, and the portal shows it against every SIM with a copy button.

Teltonika
RUT and TRB series. APN goes under Network, Mobile, then the SIM slot you are using.
Cradlepoint
Add the APN as a custom profile against the modem.
Robustel
R1500 and R2000 series. APN sits in the cellular link profile.

Any device that takes a standard SIM and lets you set an APN. The tri-cut SIM punches out to 2FF, 3FF or 4FF.

Questions

What people ask before ordering

How does the shared data pool work?

Every SIM on the same plan draws from one pool. Ten Connect 100 SIMs share 1 GB between them, rather than having 100 MB each.

What happens if we go over the pool?

The SIMs stay connected. Data beyond the pool is charged per megabyte at the plan's excess rate, from 50c on Connect 10 to 3c on Connect 1G, ex GST.

What's an ICCID and where do I find it?

It's the SIM's serial number, usually 19 or 20 digits starting with 89. It's printed on the card the SIM punches out of, next to a barcode you can scan with your phone when you add the SIM in the portal.

What's an APN and do I have to set it?

The Access Point Name tells the device which gateway to connect through. You set it once on the device. Each plan has its own APN, shown against every SIM in the portal with a copy button.

Will these work in my router?

Yes, if it takes a standard SIM and lets you set an APN. That includes industrial routers from Teltonika, Cradlepoint and Robustel. The tri-cut SIM punches out to 2FF, 3FF or 4FF.

Are we locked into a contract?

No. Plans run month to month and there is no setup fee. The SIM management portal is included in the plan price.

Do the SIMs arrive ready to use?

Yes. Set the APN in the router and the device connects.

Can I stop a SIM without cancelling it?

Yes. Suspending a SIM deactivates it temporarily and keeps it in your inventory. Contact us to reactivate it. Retiring a SIM is permanent and it can't be reused.

Do you offer static IPs, private APNs or NB-IoT?

No. International roaming and eSIM are not offered either. Connect SIMs are physical 4G, 5G and LTE-M SIMs for use in Australia.

Who can see and change our SIMs?

Access is role based. You can let someone view SIMs and their usage without letting them activate, deactivate or reconfigure anything. Changes are recorded in an audit log.

How does the volume pricing work?

Discounts are based on the number of active SIMs on a plan and apply automatically: 5% off from 50 SIMs and 8% off from 250. For 1,000 or more, we'll quote a price for your fleet.

How long until we have SIMs on site?

We confirm delivery timing when we confirm your order. SIMs can ship straight to site.

What if we order spares and don't use them?

Nothing. Billing starts when a SIM first carries traffic, and unused SIMs can wait up to 6 months before billing begins.

What coverage will we get?

Connect runs on 4G, 5G and LTE-M. The LTE-M footprint is around 3.5 million square kilometres. To check a particular site, send us the address.

Can we get ruggedised or solder-down SIMs?

Yes, on request. Ruggedised SIMs for extended temperature and vibration, and solder-down MFF2 chips for sealed enclosures or OEM builds, are both available and quoted per job.

Are your prices GST inclusive?

Prices are shown ex GST by default. The toggle next to each price list switches to inc GST.

Can we order online?

You can submit an order online for up to 49 SIMs across any mix of plans. We review every order and contact you to confirm before anything ships, then invoice. Orders of 50 or more are quoted.

Next step

Ordering 50 or more?

Volume pricing starts at 50 SIMs. We also quote OEM builds and utility rollouts, usually within one business day.
